  • Sustainability in Palm Oil Industry

    Pretty isn't it?
"In the industrial realm, sustainability is not just a choice; it's an imperative. Balancing progress with environmental stewardship isn't just responsible business, it's the key to a resilient and enduring future for both industry and the planet.""

    The team and Objective

In the context organization, the collaboration between engineering, sustainability, and SHE departments implies an integration of diverse skills and insights to contribute to the overall success and sustainability of the company. This collaborative effort lead to a more comprehensive and effective approach to achieving the company's goals.

Representing downstream operational, Operational Analyst has main responsible for the availability of refinery plant's data that can be analyzed for sustainabiilty application program, especially in reduce power and utility usage. Palm oil refinery, like the other manufacturing plants, needs a lot of water and energy to keep operate in the best perform.

    Contribution

Played a pivotal role in advancing sustainability initiatives within the palm oil industry, I collaborated closely with the sustainability department and spearheaded the development of a strategic plan aimed at achieving a high shift: elevating the ratio of mixed biofuel (EBT) to an impressive 50%.

Additionally, we successfully implemented measures to curtail water process usage by an impressive 24%, employing innovative methods such as the reuse of condensate. beyond mere data analysis, my role extended to evaluating the feasibility of clean production applications in the refinery process. Aligning seamlessly with the Astra ESG program, this initiative was grounded in a thorough examination of fuel and water consumption data.

    Endless Possibility

    1/1
Arrangement of plants to reduce sunlight and beam, one of natural way to reduce power usage
    2/3
replanting system-strategy to tackle land-opening activity without decrease productivity
    2/3
facility maintenance is crucial aspect of asset management

  • Data Management

    Window

Proficiency in data management became a cornerstone of my contributions, as I took on the role of the primary data collector within my tasks. Executing a comprehensive Day in The Life Of (DILO) for one year (it is really a new experience!), I conducted a meticulous time study analysis, engaging with 11 individuals across six different professions to gather, compile, and generate insightful data on worker productivity.

Utilizing the PDCA method, I performed a prescriptive analysis of the DILO data, leading to a strategic revision and re-evaluation of a project element. This shift prioritized worker safety over profit, concurrently bolstering harvesting productivity.

After the project, I went back to the operational refinery division. I established an integrated star schema database for the operational refinery and fractionation since there wasn't any main database to start with. Other tasks are covers encompassing crucial aspects such as raw material/CPO quality, plant process performance, utility/consumable usage, equipment breakdown frequency, on-time delivery product shipment, and production cost.

  • Hybrid Works

    Dual Monitor

Stepping into the role of an assistant or secretary for the department, I took charge of orchestrating a seamless transition to hybrid work practices, especially in the Pandemic period.

In uncharted territory, I successfully implemented an online scheduling and meeting system, a novel initiative for our team. This encompassed the creation of events and the synchronization of all participants' activities through MS Outlook, accompanied by efficient communication through email blasts. The tangible outcomes were twofold: swift decision-making processes and the ability to seamlessly collaborate across diverse entities. Picture the efficiency of coordinating plant operations in Sulawesi Island, the headquarters in Jakarta, and collaborative efforts with a company in Malaysia—all facilitated through virtual meetings.
  • Supply Chain Analyst

    Ship
Supply chain analysis stands at the core of my professional identity, and it's where my skills truly shine.

In my role, I collaborated seamlessly with procurement, logistics, and marketing teams to formulate a robust Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and production plan. These strategic plans were meticulously crafted based on the comprehensive fact table derived from our integrated database (Kinda sad but in the same time also proud, I created it from scratch using MySQL). The impact was profound—decision-making processes were streamlined to such an extent that the frequency of meetings dwindled from a weekly to a monthly cadence.

This optimization, in turn, led to a remarkable uptick in plant utility, soaring from 90% to an impressive 95%.

This post encapsulates not just a job duty, but a commitment to enhancing operational efficiency and achieving tangible results in the realm of supply chain management.
  • Downstream Palm Oil Operational Analyst

    Sky_2

Fulfilling the role of a Downstream Operational Analyst, I found a perfect alignment with my academic background in chemical engineering and doing my best in contributing to the seamless functioning of the refinery and fractionation plant. My accomplishments include the establishment of an integrated star schema database that intricately covers crucial aspects of operational refinery and fractionation. This comprehensive database delves into five key dimensions: raw material/CPO quality, plant process performance, utility/consumable usage, equipment breakdown frequency, on-time delivery product shipment, and production cost.

In addition to database management, I actively sought opportunities to enhance operational efficiency. I meticulously analyzed the potential for clean production applications within the refinery process, aligning each initiative with the Astra ESG program, grounded in detailed fuel and water consumption data.

To ensure transparency and facilitate informed decision-making, I developed and delivered periodical (weekly and monthly) plant performance reports. These reports, presented in both spreadsheet and dynamic visualization formats, provided a holistic overview of the refinery's operational health. It's also encapsulates my dedication to marrying theoretical knowledge with hands-on application, contributing significantly to the operational excellence of the refinery plant.
  • PDCA Analyst

    Project 3

Immersing myself in the heart of the company's project, XPro 2.0, operating under the keen oversight of the CEO's main monitoring team, has been a defining chapter in my professional journey. The project's core objective—augmenting productivity and fortifying the IT landscape in the agricultural and plantation sectors.

In this capacity, I played a pivotal role in collect, compile, and analyzed all of worker's activity data, strategically aligning it with the existing plantation status, immediate project goals, and the unique characteristics of the environment and land. I undertook the responsibility of socializing the master project and disseminating its nuances across all sub-companies. Key initiatives emerged: a revolutionary new path herding method for the plantation sector, optimizing productivity and increasing individual income, and an integrated infield-transportation route and fleet service point location to streamline travel and maintenance times.

We (me and my trainee friends) executed a comprehensive Day in The Life Of (DILO), conducting a time study analysis involving 11 individuals across six professions. This invaluable data was subjected to prescriptive analysis, utilizing the PDCA method, resulting in the strategic revision and re-evaluation of a project element. This recalibration prioritized worker safety over profit, concurrently elevating harvesting productivity.

To ensure stakeholders were well-informed and engaged, I established and delivered progress reports periodically, contributing to the transparency and collaborative spirit that defined the success of XPro 2.0. This post encapsulates my role as a PDCA Analyst—bridging the gap between meticulous planning and tangible, impactful results.
